It has been four years since I accomplished my first national solo tour to the west coast and back. To give an idea of what it is like to attempt to book a national tour as a solo songwriter with a guitar, I worked for six months every day to book the tour. I sent hundreds of emails and made hundreds of phone calls and got not one single booking. So what did I do? Well I know I was born to do this even if you don't know it so I set an itinerary and showed up in towns where I stopped and pounded the pavement till I got something. Once I hit Colorado the tide turned and nearly everywhere I went afterwards friends and family who have known me my whole life began to reach out to me and set up shows for me even before I would arrive in a town. I spent two months on the road and spent only three nights in lodgings that I had to pay for. I played twenty-eight shows in eight states and made enough money on performance fees and cd sales to cover my meager expenses at home ( a good friend sublet my place of abode ).
This time I have sent out booking emails again, and guess what, a solo guy with a guitar is not the first thing to ring someones fancy but that's ok. because I know what I have is good and that my music is going to catch on. I also know that music is community connection and love and that those three things are going to carry my hard work to another level. If you would like to be a part of this adventure and support my music getting out into the world then I will gladly accept your help.
